Questions and answers
How Pet Outing Packlist works – templates, bags, the kit cupboard, the food and water maths, back-home ticks, export and backup.
Is the app really free?
Yes. All features are free. There are no adverts, no in-app purchases and no subscriptions.
Do I need an account?
No. Open the app and start. Everything is stored on your phone only.
How do I start?
Tap “Plan an outing”, choose a template, give the outing a name and a date, pick the dogs who come along and save. The packing list opens straight away. To look around first, tap “Look at an example” – it loads an example family you can remove later under More › Backup & data.
How is the water and food worked out?
Under More › Dogs & portions you enter, for each dog, the water it drinks per hour out, the food per meal and the treats per day. On an outing’s Food & water tab you set the hours without a tap, the meals away, the days of treats and an extra percentage for delays. The app multiplies and adds – nothing else. It gives no veterinary advice; ask your vet what your dog needs, especially in hot weather.
What does “per dog” mean in a template?
Items such as a lead or a harness are counted once for every dog on the outing. With two dogs, “Lead × 1 per dog” becomes two leads on the list.
What is the kit cupboard for?
It is a list of what your household owns, how many of each and where it is kept. When a packing list item is linked to the kit, the list shows its place, and the app warns you when an upcoming outing needs more than you own.
Will the app remind me before an outing?
No. The app sends no notifications. What is coming up, what is still to pack and what has not come back yet is shown inside the app on the Outings screen.
Can several family members share one list?
There is no sync between phones. You can share the list as a PDF or as text in a messenger, and move all data to another phone with a backup file.
How do I back up my data or move to a new phone?
More › Backup & data › Share backup (or Save to a folder) creates a JSON file. On the new phone choose Import a backup and pick the file; you can add it to existing data or replace it.
How do I delete my data?
Delete single outings, kit or dogs in the app, or everything at once under More › Backup & data › Delete all data. Uninstalling the app also deletes all its data.
